Film To Paradise

Almost 6 months ago I saw Gavin DeGraw live. Before playing one of my favorite songs, Soldier, he made what has become one of my favorite speeches about love:

“I’ve been in love and I’ve been out of love. Both of them have their own value…am I wrong? But I will say that when you’re in love, your mind changes about certain things, right? I started seeing myself in a role of protecting that person. I started thinking to myself, I love this person, if someone wants to do something to hurt this person to the person that I love…I would strongly consider running them over with my car. I know some people out there thinking, I don’t even know what to call that. Well, I’ll tell you right now, that’s a felony…but it’s also a crime of passion. So if you’ve ever seen yourself in that position of wanting to protect that person that you love while everyone else has turned their back on that person that you love then you understand this song.”

While hearing this speech the only person I could think about or look at was the girl I had been in love with for years. I kept telling myself, ‘I would do anything for this girl’. That night I was lucky enough to become the boyfriend of hands down the most amazing girl I have ever met. She is my bestfriend, my girlfriend, and I will always be madly in love with her. No matter what happens I will always be her Soldier.

It’s funny how sometimes you meet that one person that you would literally do anything for. You would turn mountains just to be with them, but you have no idea how they feel back. It kills you to just sit and try and figure it out. You rewind all those amazing moments together and take the little things: those indescribable looks, the smiles, each and every word she says and put them into a perspective that maybe, just maybe, she feels the same about you. 

I can’t get her out of my mind. No matter how much I try, my first, last and every thought in between is of her. I know in my heart that she’s the one and I will do anything possible to be able to call her mine.

I would do anything and everything to have a second chance with this one. Never felt this way before…shes too amazing!

This is the only time I will ever do this, because the one thing I really hate about Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr is when people non stop bitch about everything. I am not gonna bitch to you today…I’m going to give advice to women out there. If you are dating a guy and things are going meh, DO NOT just play it off like things are okay! Communication is the key to any relationship. Second piece of advice: If the guy catches on to the fact that something is wrong, don’t be like “nah everything is all good” when everything is not. Last piece: Even if your mind says that it may not work out, don’t just put up the white flag and call it quits, that’s fucking lame. If you truly care about the guy then there is always something you can do to make things work. 

Hopefully some women will take my advice.
